Clueless

Saturday, 8/31

“A fresh, disarmingly bright and at times explosively funny comedy well worth a trip to the [cinema].” –Brian Lowry, Variety

Jane Austen might never have imagined that her 1815 novel Emma could be turned into a fresh look at the life of an ultra-rich teenager in Beverly Hills. That teen is none other than Cher (Alicia Silverstone), a witty, charming, and intelligent girl who hides those traits under her superficial façade. When new student Tai (Brittany Murphy) arrives at Beverly Hills High, Cher takes it upon herself to befriend the newbie – and give her a total makeover. Clueless is not just another teen movie thanks to writer/director Amy Heckerling who, with this film, created an astute satire and time capsule of 90s teen life.
