"Giving young audiences more to digest than popcorn." - New York Times
The New York International Children’s Film Festival and the Miami International Film Festival returns to Coral Gables with the award-winning collection of short films, the Kid Flix Mix, a perfect treat for young children on Saturday, August 13 & Sunday, August 14, 2016 during our Family Day on Aragon series! A group of musically inclined ants face off against a lumberjack threatening to take down their tree in Pik Pik Pik. Being different isn’t so bad in Bunny New Girl and Zebra. Sometimes even our family members can feel like strangers in My Big Brother, Eyes, and Oscar nominated Me and my Moulton. Fantasies create new worlds and endless possibilities in 5.80 Meters, Larisa Can Fly, and Submarine Sandwich. One special object can inspire anyone, big or small, in The Elephant and the Bicycle and Cookie-Tin Banjo, and a fly and a spider go to war in a common bathroom in Minuscule: The Private Life of Insects – Brushing. These short films are appropriate for ages 3 and up.
Culturally rich, inexpensive family fun featuring beloved classics and new favorites for all to enjoy. Hosted on the second Saturday & Sunday of every month. Tickets are free for children 12 & under and pay what you can for everyone else. All tickets include a free small popcorn and soda. Suggested price per pay what you can ticket is $5 per person. In partnership with Books & Books and Coral Gables Museum.
