"The climactic be-yourself message is agelessly sweet." - Entertainment Weekly
The Gables Cinema and the Secret Celluloid Society presents Jeff Kanew’s classic frat comedy Revenge of the Nerds as part of our late-night After Hours series! This 1984 Kanew gem features Gilbert (Robert Carradine) and Lewis (Anthony Edwards) as freshmen at Adams College where they are bullied by the “cool kids” because of their geeky ways. Joined by the aptly named Booger (Curtis Armstrong) and the violin-playing Pointdexter (Timothy Busfield), the nerds soon realize they must form their own fraternity and stave off their aggressors using their high-tech abilities. The first of the series, Revenge of the Nerds was a surprise hit and spawned three sequels.
After Hours is the best films you never saw on the big screen (or maybe you did) from late-night cult classics to foreign favorites and even summer blockbusters every Saturday night often on 35mm. Tickets include a free popcorn and happy hour. Please note that unclaimed pre-ordered tickets will be sold to the rush line 30 mins after showtime.
