"During [the film], I was pretty sure I was watching a classic, one that will be around for a long time, and make many generations of fans." – Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times

Year One. Harry Potter lives a dreary life with his miserable aunt and uncle but on his 11th birthday, a giant named Hagrid reveals the young orphan is a wizard and enrolls him in the Hogwarts School for Witchcraft & Wizardry. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone launched the careers of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, and featured a score of noted British actors, including Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith, and Richard Harris.
