"Cataclysmic terror... I would happily testify to its redeeming social merit in any court in the country" - Stephen King
The Gables Cinema and Secret Celluloid Society present Tobe Hooper's digital restoration of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the final screening for our special Halloween Up All Nite celebration on Sunday, 11/1 at 7:00 am! Shown as part of late-night After Hours series, this classic American slasher follows a group of friends who fall victim to "Leatherface" and his family of cannibals. Although it's an entirely fictional plot, many of the horrific events in the film were inspired by real life 1950's murderer Ed Gein. This restoration of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is the only transfer to return to the original 16mm A/B rolls, the actual film that rolled through the cameras, and took over five grueling months to complete.
After Hours is the best films you never saw on the big screen (or maybe you did) from late-night cult classics to foreign favorites and even summer blockbusters every Saturday night often on 35mm. Tickets include a free popcorn and happy hour. Please note that unclaimed pre-ordered tickets will be sold to the rush line 30 mins after showtime.
As a member, you are supporting the continued success of our After Hours program. Yearly After Hours membership pays for itself with reduced-price tickets at $5.00 instead of $8.00. Online ticket fees are waived for After Hours screenings and 4 free tickets to our regular price screenings are included.
