Richard Gere & Susan Sarandon Shine in “Arbitrage” Starting September 14

On September 14, film legend Richard Gere and Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon team up in the taut thriller Arbitrage, starting its South Florida Theatrical Premiere in 35mm at the Coral Gables Art Cinema. It's a tale of high-stakes finance, corruption, love and betrayal. Gere, still dashing, plays a New York hedge-fund magnate married to Sarandon, luminous as always, portraying a well-to-do wife who is sharper than she appears. One sudden, tragic accident sends their world into a tailspin, as business and personal deception become entangled in a tight knot that threatens to upend their lives.

On Friday, September 14, at the 7:00 pm screening there will be an introduction and Q&A with the director of Arbitrage Nicholas Jarecki, best known for his acclaimed feature documentary The Outsider.

"Incredibly accomplished...a morally thorny thriller that gives audiences all the more reason to resent those responsible for the current financial mess." - Variety

More on "Arbitrage”

"A tasty financial" - Entertainment Weekly (read full review here)

In Arbitrage, when we first meet New York hedge-fund magnate Robert Miller (Richard Gere) on the eve of his 60th birthday, he appears the very portrait of success in American business and family life. But behind the gilded walls of his mansion, Miller is in over his head, desperately trying to complete the sale of his trading empire to a major bank before the depths of his fraud are revealed. Struggling to conceal his duplicity from loyal wife Ellen (Susan Sarandon) and brilliant daughter and heir-apparent Brooke (Brit Marling), Miller's also balancing an affair with French art-dealer Julie Côte (Laetitia Casta). Running on borrowed time, and faced with a cascading series of revelations and cover-ups, Miller is forced to confront the limits of even his own moral duplicity.
