A Nightmare on Elm Street

Saturday, 10/7 at 11:30 pm

"What makes Freddy truly terrifying, and an inspired invention on Craven's part, is that he exists not in the real world but in the shadowy realm of dreams." – Simon Braund, Empire Magazine

A group of Midwestern teenagers are stalked and brutally killed in their dreams by the haunting Freddy Krueger, a disfigured serial killer sporting a glove with knife blades attached to each finger. As the terrified teens scurry to save themselves from impending death, they learn of a dark secret kept by their parents that holds the key to unraveling the mystery behind the killings. Written and directed by horror maestro Wes Craven, A Nightmare on Elm Street builds on the slasher elements created by John Carpenter in Halloween, dialing up the blood and gore. The film wraps the carnage in an intelligent premise that examines the struggles of every-day teenagers. And remember, whatever you do, don’t fall asleep!
