"Bound is one of those movies that works you up, wrings you out and leaves you gasping. It’s pure cinema" – Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times
Before The Matrix Trilogy shook the world, The Wachowskis made their directorial debut with Bound, a neo-noir crime thriller starring Jennifer Tilly as Violet and Gina Gershon as Corky, two lovers who hatch a plan to steal $2 million of mafia money. The film was a critical hit when it was released, receiving much-deserved praise for depicting a lesbian relationship with heart and its clever & sophisticated directorial style. Bound’s steamy sex scenes in the film were choreographed by Susie Bright, the noted feminist writer and sex educator, ensuring they were not shot through the typical Hollywood male gaze. Over 20 years later, the film is not only one of the most stylish films of the 90’s but one of the best.
