Spirited 14-year-old Chakra yearns for independence while working the rice fields with his family. Unbeknownst to them, Chakra travels to Bangkok to make his fortune with the aid of a local broker who betrays him and his new friend Kea, selling them as slaves to a fishing captain. Trapped at sea, trawling fish for 22 hours a day, and surviving on just a handful of cold rice a day, Chakra's hope and humanity dwindle. But the teen musters up the strength to take control of the trawler - and seek freedom.
