Concert for George

Sunday, 5/27, Monday, 5/28, Wednesday, 5/30 & Thursday, 5/31

“The sweet, solemn music of George Harrison has rarely sounded more majestic than in the sweeping performances of the enlarged star-studded band that gathered in London at Royal Albert Hall to commemorate his legacy.” – Stephen Holden, New York Times

One year after the passing of George Harrison, wife Olivia and longtime friend Eric Clapton organized a tribute in his honor. Held at London’s Royal Albert Hall, the momentous evening featured George’s songs and the music he loved performed by a lineup that included Clapton, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Billy Preston, Ravi and Anoushka Shankar, Monty Python, Dhani Harrison (a ringer for his dad when young), surviving bandmates Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, among many others. David Leland’s Concert for George is one of the greatest of its kind and is presented in 2K and 5.1 sound to enhance the theatrical experience on the 75th anniversary of Harrison’s birth.
