"Terrifying and beautiful, believable and fantastical, this is one of the best children's films in years and Selick's finest -- better even than The Nightmare Before Christmas." —Empire
"Coraline is essentially faithful to the spirit of its source material. But it's also so visually inventive, and so elaborately tactile, that it stands apart as its own creation." —Stephanie Zacharek, Salon

A dark fantasy film based on Neil Gaiman's novel. It tells the story of a curious and adventurous young girl named Coraline Jones, who moves into a strange, old house with her neglectful parents. Bored and feeling unimportant, Coraline discovers a hidden door in her new home that leads to a parallel world much like her own, but seemingly perfect.
In this otherworld, Coraline's "Other Mother" and "Other Father" pay her constant attention, the neighbors are eccentric and entertaining, and everything appears wonderful. However, as Coraline explores further, she uncovers a sinister secret: the Other Mother wants to sew buttons into her eyes and keep her in this alternate reality forever.
Determined to rescue her real parents and herself, Coraline must summon all her courage to confront the terrifying and manipulative Other Mother. With the help of some unusual allies, including a sassy black cat, Coraline embarks on a thrilling and perilous journey to save her family and break free from the sinister grasp of the Other Mother.
