“The ultimate party movie -- loud, crude, socially irresponsible and totally irresistible.” – Peter Travers, Rolling Stone
30th Anniversary
Step back into the decade of Led Zeppelin, bell-bottoms, and loose joints on the last day of school in 1976. Richard Linklater’s breakthrough film is a staple summer flick that captures the timelessness of youth with a killer soundtrack and some of the most quotable lines in movie history. Taking cues from the characters themselves, the film has a lackadaisical charm that eases you into cool summer nights hanging out with a bunch of friends you never knew you had. Even in his early films, Linklater had a knack for the kind of dialogue that just rolls off the tongue, and with a large ensemble cast featuring early roles for Matthew McConaughey, Ben Affleck, Parker Posey, Adam Goldberg, and Milla Jovovich, it’s no wonder it comes off like such a breeze. Even when the film came out, it felt like a cult classic. Given the luxury of time, it truly lives up to that title.
After Hours is the best films you never saw on the big screen (or maybe you did) from late-night cult classics to foreign favorites and even summer blockbusters on weekends. Please note that unclaimed pre-ordered tickets will be sold to the rush line 30 mins after showtime.
