Abbott & Costello's version of the famous fairy tale, about a young boy who trades the family cow for magic beans. The duo's parent studio, Universal, wouldn't cough up the cash for a full color film so Abbott & Costello ponied up the funds themselves thanks to a clause in their contract that allowed them to make one independent film a year.
