Paterson
Saturday, 6/8 & Sunday, 6/9
“The movie is quiet and serene, but it stirs and inspires and amuses. Jarmusch finds wells of beauty and empathy.” – Rene Rodriguez, Miami Herald
Paterson (Adam Driver) is a bus driver who writes poetry drawn from the world around him. It’s also the name of the New Jersey city where he works and lives with his effervescent and energetic girlfriend. And Paterson is the title of the great epic poem by William Carlos Williams, whose spirit animates Jim Jarmusch’s exquisite film. This is a rare movie experience set to the rhythm of an individual consciousness absorbing everyday life, at home and at work, and making them into art.
Two years ago, Paterson played - for one week only - in the north end of town. It received Rene Rodriguez’s last 4-star review in The Miami Herald. Here’s a rare opportunity to discover a gem hidden in plain sight, just before the release of Jarmusch’s new movie.
