Stop-Motion Animation Workshops

The 2015 Miami International Children’s Film Festival is pleased to offer our special hands-on stop-motion animation workshops for kids! Students will learn basic principles of stop-motion animation with a focus on printed materials, watch short films with a variety of stop-motion techniques and then create their own content for short films. Students will work with a variety of materials, including children's magazine cut-outs, patterned paper, clay, legos, etc. to create short stop-motion animation films. The final product will be delivered in an electronic file to every student for them to keep and shared on the Gables Cinema website and social media platforms. Our stop-motion animation workshops will be located at the Coral Gables Museum across the street from the Gables Cinema. These workshops are for children ages 6-12. There is a $25 material and equipment fee.
