The Cakemaker

Final Week Through 7/26!

“An unusual story of same-sex romance that acknowledges the fluidity of sexuality and desire, particularly in light of emotional need; love takes a variety of shapes here, none more pure than any other.” - Guy Lodge, Variety

Thomas, a young German baker, is having an affair with Oren, an Israeli married man. When Oren dies in a car crash in Israel, Thomas travels to Jerusalem seeking answers regarding his death. Under a secret identity, Thomas infiltrates the life of Anat, his lover’s widowed wife. Thomas becomes involved in her life, far beyond his anticipation. To protect the truth, he will stretch his lie to a point of no return. For prize-winning director Ofir Raul Graizer, The Cakemaker cuts close to the bone: “It’s a story about the attempt to put aside definition of nationality, sexuality and religion. It’s my story.”

Tickets to these screenings are $12.75 and under. Cinema members pay only $8.
