The Muppet Movie
Saturday, 5/12
"There’s always room in movies for unbridled amiability when it’s governed by intelligence and wit.” – Vincent Canby, The New York Times
When talent agent Bernie (Dom DeLuise) encourages Kermit the Frog to pursue a career in show business, the loveable amphibian embarks on a cross-country trip to Hollywood. Along the way, Kermit is joined by Fozzie Bear, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, and dozens of other Muppets with similar aspirations. The Muppet Movie is the first theatrical outing for Jim Henson’s motley crew of puppets, known for its brand of self-aware comedy that appeals to all ages. It garnered two Academy Award nominations for Best Original Score and Best Original Song (for “Rainbow Connection”).
