Tito and the Birds
Saturday, 5/11 & Sunday, 5/12
“Tito and the Birds combines different art styles in a way that demonstrates the radical possibilities of animated storytelling.” – Christian Holub, Entertainment Weekly
Shy, 10-year-old Tito lives in Brazil with his single mother. After an unusual epidemic spreads, Tito discovers the cure is somehow related to his missing father’s research on bird song. Together with his friends Sarah and Buiú, Tito embarks on a brave journey to save the world – and possibly reunite with his long, lost father. Featuring dazzling animation comprised of oil paintings, digital drawings, and graphic animation, Tito and the Birds is a parable for our times – themselves full of mass hysteria – that shows us how overcoming fear is the first step in reconciliation. Suitable for ages 11 and up
